After a busy week of midterms and running around like a crazy person, I needed some sugary sweet comfort food. These sauteed apples are sweet, but have a cinnamon kick to it.

Prep will take about 10 minutes. I found it easier to peel the apples first and then core out the middle. Cooking was also very simple and fast.

If you want an easy and quick dessert with a little extra zing of flavor, this is the right dish for you. Let them sit for about 15 minutes. I preferred to serve them warm as they just completely melt in your mouth.

Sauteed Apples
  • -3 tablespoons butter
  • -4 large Granny Smith apples (about 2 1/4 pounds), peeled, cored, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • -2 tablespoons golden brown sugar
  • -1 tablespoon honey
  • -1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • -1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • -1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel

1. Cook butter in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until beginning to brown. 2. Add apples and sauté until tender, about 9 minutes.
3. Add all remaining ingredients; stir to blend. Cool.
